Red Brick Church in Morrison

This is the church that the McCulloh children and Maria attended. For at least part of the time William preached at two other Brethren in Christ churches while his family attended this Mennonite Church. The church was built in 1872 and was torn down in 1984. To the left you will note two people standing next to a large tombstone. This is the tombstone of John and Mary McCulloh. William’s brother John was an assistant to Rev. John Nice and served this church from 1893 to 1916.)

This is the site of the church as it appeared in June 2004. The church had been about where the large tree is between the two concrete posts. These posts are just visible in the old photo at the top of this page.)

Morrison Red Brick Cemetery – 2004

McCullohs, Gsells & Longaneckers are buried in this graveyard. Several of William’s children are buried here and his first wife Mary Sweigert is also buried here. This was the cemetery in June 2004. (Owen McCulloh of Morrison, IL and cousin Eugene McCulloh of Mansfield, PA in the photo)
