Hannah Crosby Humbert was born May 11, 1834, in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. On August 31, 1851 she married Amos Crosby McCulloh, presumable in Franklin County. Amos died on Dec. 26, 1876 and is buried in Ft. Loudon, Pennsylvania. Amos and Hannah produced eleven children, of which nine survived.In 1884 Hannah went to Illinois.

In 1887 she married Sam Wise who, according to the 1850 census, had been her neighbor in Ft. Loudon, Pennsylvania. Sam died on December 15, 1905. On June 27, 1907 at the age of 73 years, 1 month and 16 days Hannah passed from this life.

Hannah was a consistent member of the Mennonite Church. Funeral services were held on June 30th at the Mennonite Church in Morrison, Ill., where quite a number of people had come together. The services were conducted by John Zook and John Nice. The text for the service was John 19:27 and Mark 14:8.
